Wide input voltage window -
UPS operates and charges battery even when the incoming
supply goes to as low as -30% and as high as +15% over
the nominal (300V to 480V). The advantage to the user
is that the Battery remains in top charged condition most
of the time (even at low input supply voltage condition
and which is very common in India) and provides full backup
power only when the total power fails or the input supply
is too low. This avoids unnecessary discharge of Battery
bank. And this has a direct impact on battery life. The
battery life expectancy is increased to a greater extent.
2
Input Power factor & current harmonic
control - The rectifier is state of the art PWM IGBT Rectifier,
with built in active input power factor and input current
harmonic level control. These features differentiate against
conventional controlled rectifier designs. The design
offers Input Power Factor better than 0.99 and the current
harmonic distrotion level less than 3% (in full load condition).
Also, the input power factor and the current harmoic distortion
levels are maintained well within the limits irrespective
of load variation and input supply variation. In conventional
rectifiers these two parameters varies with input supply
change and also the percentage of load put on the system.
3
Reduction in generator sizing - The generator
sizing required for ESTEEM UPS is considerably low (10%
- more than the corresponding UPS input power). For conventional
UPS's the generator sizing required is 40 to 60% more,
hence more expenditure and more stress on your alternate
source (i.e. generator), for which the user has maximum
restriction on power usage.
